We would like to congratulate Lorenz and Gudrun Sandhofe from Ueckermünde on receiving the Johannes Stelling Honorary Award. Since 2015 they have been organizing the annual Marches of Life in cooperation with the city of Ueckermünde. The tenth march took place at the beginning of January this year.
The Johannes Stelling Prize, which is awarded annually by the SPD parliamentary group in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is intended to honor courageous behavior and civic commitment by citizens and institutions in the state. Minister President Manuela Schwesig presented the award to Lorenz and Gudrun Sandhofe in recognition of their important commitment to Jewish life and the commemoration of the Holocaust in Ueckermünde.
