March of Life Award
The Marsch des Lebens e.V. presents the March of Life Award, which includes a monetary price, to persons or groups, who:
- have made valuable contributions to the work-up of the Shoah,
- have made a notable contribution to the reconciliation between perpetrators and victims of the Holocaust and their descendants,
- support the state of Israel in a notable way.

Major General (res.) Doron Almog
Award Winner 2018 | Founder of ALEH Negev-Nahalat-Eran
Doron Almog is a national hero in Israel who has led numerous IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) special operations. Through his severly-autistic son he became aware of how very weak and needy people are pushed to the edge of society. He then dedicated his life to those with the most severe physical and cognitive disabilities and built a state-of-the-art facility for the disabled in the Negev Desert.
Dr. Gideon Greif
Award Winner 2017 | Historian and Expert in the History of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp
Professor Greif is a globally recognized Israeli historian as well as a specialist in the study of the Holocaust and teaching it. He specializes in research on the “Sonderkommando” of Auschwitz-Birkenau. His book “We Wept Without Tears ” inspired Hungarian director László Nemes for the movie “Son of Saul,” which is about the Sonderkommando and was awarded the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2016.
