It is with great regret that we have to announce that Lorenz Sandhofe passed away on July 24 after a short, serious illness.
Since 2015, he has organized the March of Life in Ueckermünde together with his wife Gudrun and has been a valued advisor and companion within the March of Life movement. With great dedication, he helped spread the March of Life not only throughout Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, but across all of northern Germany.
For his extraordinary civic engagement, he was recently honored together with his wife Gudrun with the Johannes Stelling Honorary Award from the SPD parliamentary group.
We mourn with Gudrun and all family members in the faith and certainty that we will see him again in eternity. We are filled with gratitude for Lorenz’s faithfulness and commitment to remembrance, to reconciliation, and to making a stand for Israel and against antisemitism – a commitment that has lasting impact in the region and eternal value in heaven.
