ALEH is the biggest network of high-support accommodations for about 750 children and adults with severe physical and mental disabilities in Israel. These severely disabled residents have a very weak immune system. The most frequent issues the children in ALEH face are connected to their lungs and respiratory system. Consequently, every case of Covid-19 is a disaster here.
Because schools are closed and the majority of Israel’s population has been put under quarantine, ALEH is forced to work with about half of its regular staff, and without local volunteers. At the same time, due to the current situation many donations were cancelled. These donations cover the majority of the roughly 4,000€ per child, providing vital therapy, medication, and care for the child. March of Life was able to collect a donation of 13,000€ to support this precious work among the weakest of the Israeli society.
