March of Remembrance Becomes March of Life USA

During the U.S. trip of March of Life founder and president Jobst Bittner, the American movement aligned its name with the international movement in early August: “March of Remembrance” is now “March of Life USA.”

The March of Life movement in the United States began back in 2009. Originally initiated by musician Ted Pearce, marches have since been held under the name “March of Remembrance” in nearly 50 states. Today the movement is centered in New York City, where national coordinator Claudia Kiesinger coordinates the marches across the country. A further focus lies in Houston, where Texas director Rozalie Jerome organizes annual marches in cities throughout the state.

The new name brings the American movement closer to the international March of Life family — and it reflects the full vision. “March of Remembrance” covers only the first of the three goals of March of Life: Remembrance, Reconciliation, and Taking a Stand for Israel and against antisemitism. Only all three goals together bring out the transforming power that sets this movement apart.

The name change is intended to strengthen the identity and vision of March of Life in the USA and to help the movement grow further. In the face of antisemitism exploding in the United States as well — on both the left and the right of the political spectrum — the message of March of Life is more important today than ever.

The first March of Life in the USA for 2027 is already scheduled for January 24 in Kingwood, Texas. For more information and to get in touch, visit www.marchoflife.org/usa
