The very changeable weather with hours of heavy rain could not stop the Dutch and German participants of the first “Mars van het Leven” from walking over 300 km from Westerbork to Amsterdam to set an example against anti-Semitism and for Israel.

The first March of Life in Vienna took a route through the heart of Vienna’s Favoriten district to commemorate the Hungarian Jews who were forced to work here under brutal conditions during the Nazi era.

Over the course of three days, Dutch and Germans will walk 330 km together on the Westerbork Pad from Herineringscentrum Westerbork to the Hollandsche Schouwburg.
